As our social media feeds begin to fill up with mountain scenery, Floridians can’t help but book a holiday in Aspen/Snowmass. The St. Regis Residences, Miami
While spending the summer out west, start dreaming about tropical winters in South Florida by visiting The St. Regis Residences, Miami’s sales gallery at The St. Regis Aspen Resort. Designed by starchitects Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Rockwell Group, the tower will rise along Biscayne Bay and offer signature amenities including St. Regis butler service, a private marina and Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi’s cuisine.
Hermès Aspen
With the arrival of Hermès’s Aspen store, Colorado now counts two locations for the French luxury house. Natural context, from local stone and wood to mountain vistas, leads design inspiration, while artworks nod to western winter and equine motifs. Shoppers first encounter leather goods, fragrances, beauty and accessories including iconic silk scarves before making their way up to equestrian, clothing and jewelry collections.
Aspen Art Museum’s ArtCrush
Sotheby’s proudly represents Aspen Art Museum’s ArtCrush 2023 auction with works by artists such as Liza Lou, Charles Gaines, the Haas Brothers and Nairy Baghramian, recipient of the 2023 Aspen Award for Art and ArtCrush gala honoree (Buttermilk Mountain base, August 4). Visit her solo show “Jupon de Corps” with large-scale installations, for which she gives a talk on August 4.
Le Bateau
If you’re curious about how a restaurant named Le Bateau came to be here, it pays homage to a precursor of modern ski lifts when skiers were towed by boat up Ajax Mountain. The French translation further nods to Gallic cuisine like roasted oysters with Champagne beurre blanc and pink peppercorn mignonette. Foods of French-linked locales are also in the mix.
Music + Film
The Aspen Music Festival and School livestreams eight of 300+ classical music concerts through August 20, with “A Feast of Music” benefit on August 8. The Foo Fighters and Lumineers headline the 32nd Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) Labor Day Experience (Snowmass Town Park, September 1-3). Prior to the 44th annual Aspen FilmFest from September 19-24, enjoy its Italian director series sponsored by Buccellati.
Wellness and Sports
Ride the gondola to Aspen Shakti’s Aspen Mountain Yoga through September 4. Beyond 25 miles of beginner to advanced mountain biking trails, Snowmass Bike Park hosts camps, clinics, and races. Support people with disabilities at Challenge Aspen Golf Classic (Snowmass Club, August 1). Elite athletes compete in the Audi Snowmass 50 Mountain Bike Race and Aspen Backcountry Marathon and Heavy Half (August 5).
Sips and Bites
Taikun Sushi’s Kei Yoshino pops up at Oro Sushi at The Snow Lodge in The St. Regis Aspen Resort for omakase through September 4. Travel to Spain at Pintxos for tapas, planchas, and libations; and grab a coffee with smoked salmon avocado toast at Sant Ambroeus. The Wild Fig and Red Onion reopen soon. Stick around for the Snowmass Wine Festival (September 15-16).
Intersect Aspen
Aspen’s only fine art and design fair Intersect Aspen returns for its third edition from August 1-4. Among 31 international exhibitors at Aspen Ice Garden are South Florida galleries County (Palm Beach) and Fredric Snitzer (Miami) as well as Aspen’s Galerie Maximillian and Hexton and Casterline | Goodman galleries. Programming highlights include Josh Baer’s art business panel, invitation-only tours of private collections and a VIP brunch.
Hospitality and Transportation
In addition to private charters from Florida and other destinations, XO partnered with The St. Regis Aspen Resort and launched shared flights between New York and Aspen up to three times per week on a Gulfstream G400 through September. Several luxury hotels in Aspen/Snowmass including The Little Nell, Viewline Resort, St. Regis, W, and both Limelights, among others, offer pay 2/stay 3-night midweek promotions.
